Houston rapper Bun B (UGK for life!) will announce today that he is collaborating with the Houston Symphony for the Anti Defamation League’s “Houston in Concert Against Hate” event on November 14 at Jones Hall.

The unofficial mayor of Houston, Bernard “Bun B” Freeman is said to be creating original lyrics that honor local education and civil rights heroes, Esther Campos, Michael Feinberg, Dr. Thomas Freeman and Carol Shattuck. He will perform these songs with backing from the Houston Symphony.

Bun B recently released “Bun B’s Rap Coloring and Activity Book” with author/illustrator Shea Serrano.

The Houston in Concert Against Hate event — commemorated the centennial of the ADL — will feature Emmy award-winning actress Alfre Woodard and music performed by the Houston Symphony conducted by Robert Franz.

Proceeds from the event will go to the ADL. This is also a joint centennial celebration for both the ADL and the Houston Symphony.

Tickets for the event are now on sale.
