ADL Southwest met with three elected officials in August, making it a busy and productive month of providing policymakers with information about what we do and our resources.

Board members Alan Bernstein, Steve Finkelman, Sue Hauenstein, Evan Mintz, Ian Scharfman, Michael Trevino, Josh Zwickl and Glass Leadership Institute Alum Marina Dupuy joined ADL Associate Director Margi Levin and ADL Regional Director Mark Toubin at meetings with Texas Representative Dr. Suleman Lalani, Texas Representative Jon Rosenthal, and Texas Senator Molly Cook.

Participants discussed rising antisemitism, student safety on K-12 and college campuses, nonprofit security grant funding, domestic violent extremism, hate crimes and hate crime reporting, and transparency from digital social platforms, among other matters.

The ADL representatives also shared resources they believed would be helpful to the elected officials.

“Elected official meetings give board members and ADL supporters the opportunity to help ADL get its messages on issues of importance to people who can use that information to improve the lives of Texans, not just here, but all over the state,” said ADL Associate Director Margi Levin.  “It’s a great way to actively participate and advance the work of ADL.”
