Interim Southwest Region Director Gail Glasser and leaders of ADL’s International Affairs Committee met July 15 with Alicia Kerber-Palma, the new Consul General of Mexico posted to Houston.  Mme. Kerber-Palma, whose most recent posts included Philadelphia and Kansas City, was very familiar with ADL and the work we do.  International Affairs Committee Chair Ian Scharman, International Affairs Committee Member Judith Finkel and Dena Marks, who staffs the committee also participated in the meeting, which included Protection Consul Imanol de la Flor Patiño, and National Protection Director Julián Escutia Rodríguez.

During their wide-ranging conversation, participants in the meeting discussed ADL’s second Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mexican Government and carrying out the #DenunciaElOdio campaign, along with immigration issues, ADL trainings, and other ADL resources.  They also lamented Imanol’s departure, as he will be leaving for a post with the Organization of American States, but it was clear the strong relationship he cemented with ADL’s Southwest Regional Office would continue.
