Campus Leaders Visit Israel

  • August 19, 2013

Student leaders from 15 universities across the United States went to Israel on ADL’s Campus Leadership Mission.    Two of those students are from the University of Texas at Austin.

The trip featured visits to Christian and Jewish holy sites, and meetings with Israeli and Palestinian journalists, other students, government and military officials, diplomats and other Israelis.

The young leaders went to Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Lebanese Border, the Golan Heights and Tel Aviv.  They also stopped at Masada, visited the West Bank security fence, Old Jaffa, Capernaum and the Mount of the Beatitudes and met with prominent individuals such as journalist Yossi Klein Halevi, and U.S. Consul General Michael Ratney.

ADL takes a group of student leaders to Israel yearly to give them a clear, balanced picture of Israel and its importance not only in the Middle East, but also the world.
