African American women are dying with frightening frequency after childbirth in Texas: at a rate nearly three times higher than white women.  In 2016, two independent reports suggested that maternal mortality rates had doubled within the past decade, ranking Texas the worst in the nation, and on par with underdeveloped countries.   At the Women’s Initiative Breakfast, we will talk causes and solutions.
