Coalition for Mutual Respect Expresses Shock and Horror About Orlando Mass Murder

  • June 12, 2016

The Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL’s) Coalition for Mutual Respect joins with our community in expressing shock and horror about what happened in Orlando and condemning this act of terror.

Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

We are concerned this attack could lead to a backlash against American Muslims and caution against blaming all Muslims for the acts of one individual. As we all continue our vital work to promote respect, today we are reminded that our individual and collective voices are needed more than ever.

The Coalition for Mutual Respect, a group of clergy and community leaders, was founded in 1995 to speak out with a unified voice against acts of hatred and to promote respect.   Through congregational exchanges and educational seminars and gatherings, the Coalition continues its work to increase interfaith understanding and appreciation for diversity.
