All former chairs of ADL’s Southwest Regional Board were honored at the region’s November Board Meeting. They were lauded for their dedication, hard work, and support.
Each was given an ADL Centennial Medal and was asked to talk about a memorable moment of his or her term. Among the memories was fighting the Arab oil embargo, creating an education committee, responding to the murder of James Byrd, Jr., and honoring stellar Torch of Liberty recipients.
Three former board chairs, David Bell, Rochelle Jacobson and Earl Littman wrapped up the presentations with their memories. Littman gave a brief, but rousing speech endorsing the work of ADL and inspiring all in the room to continue to work hard to fight hatred and bigotry.
