ADL is proud to collaborate with law enforcement agencies in our region. In the first six months of this year we have trained more than 300 officers.
ADL maintains strong relationships with law enforcement agencies and provides resources, information and training, (last year nationally to more than 15,000 officers,) tailored to fit law enforcement agencies’ needs.
Your generosity allows for our Law Enforcement and Society program, conducted in partnership with Holocaust Museum Houston and the Houston Police Department. 75 officers this year have examined the Holocaust’s history and its implications for law enforcement officers today between January and May 2018.
We have brought ADL’s Managing Implicit Bias for Law Enforcement to South Texas. It is designed to reduce the role of bias in policing and contribute to improved community relations. It also encourages participants to consider how identity, culture, implicit bias, stereotyping and discrimination could affect their policing practices.
More than 100 officers in the Houston and San Antonio areas have been trained so far in 2018. You helped make possible officers attending the National Counter-Terrorism Seminar in Israel to learn best practices and strategies in fighting terror from senior commanders in the Israel National Police, experts from Israel’s intelligence and security services, and the Israel Defense Forces.
