  • March 4, 2020

Amegy Bank will receive ADL’s Community Champion Award at Houston in Concert Against Hate on April 30, 2020. This award is given to organizations that make a deep commitment to bettering their communities. The event will be at 8 p.m. at Revention Music Center (820 Texas Ave, Houston TX, 77002).

Amegy is a leading Texas bank with nearly $13 billion in assets and about 1600 employees.  It’s also a workplace where “everyone counts,” is a key value which influences the bank’s corporate culture and decision making, including its diversity council and business resource groups.  Amegy strives to reflect the communities it serves with its workforce and creates an atmosphere that values and respects differences.  All employees are encouraged to contribute to business objectives.

“Giving back is one of our highest priorities,” said Amegy Bank CEO Steve Stephens. “Each year, Amegy donates more than $1 million to support the communities where we do business.”

Amegy also encourages volunteerism among its employees by providing full-time employees eight hours of paid volunteer time per quarter and part-time employees four hours of paid volunteer time per quarter.

“Rarely do we see such deep corporate dedication to the community,” said Mark Toubin, ADL Southwest Regional Director.  “We’re lucky that Amegy is a Texas bank because we all benefit by its presence in Houston.  Amegy played a pivotal role in helping ADL create our region’s corporate partner initiative.”

ADL’s Houston in Concert Against Hate —The Magic of ADL— is ADL’s annual celebration of Houston’s commitment to stand up against hate and embrace diversity, furthering ADL’s mission to secure justice and fair treatment for all.

This year’s concert features America’s Got Talent Winner, Magician Mat Franco. The night will be a lighthearted and inspiring event that will bring people together to celebrate ADL Southwest’s accomplishments and our shared goal of fighting hate.
