About 80 people attended “The Human Face of the Immigration Debate,” presented by ADL and the South Texas College of Law/Houston.
The event featured ADL’s Assistant Legal Affairs Director, Lauren Jones, as well as Assistant Harris County District Attorney Ann Johnson, South Texas College of Law Associate Professor Scott Rempell, and was moderated by Naomi Bang, Director of the Asylum and Human Trafficking Clinic at South Texas College of Law/Houston.
Those in attendance also heard DREAMer Kids Oscar Hernandez, Carolina Ramirez, and Mario Perez. Speakers discussed immigration issues, laws and how they were affected directly by those laws, and about how prevalent human trafficking is in Houston and Texas, among other subjects related to immigration.
South Texas College of Law/Houston Dean Donald J. Guter gave opening remarks.
