ADL Sends Letter to President of Texas State University

  • March 16, 2017

ADL’s Southwest Region sent a letter to President Denise Trauth of Texas State University, thanking her for her statement denouncing anti-Semitic fliers that appeared on the university’s campus March 2.  The fliers began with the words: “White man, are you sick and tired of the Jews destroying your country through mass immigration and degeneracy?” and were emblazoned with swastikas.

ADL’s letter read in part: “We write to you today to express our appreciation to you for your thoughtful and important statement denouncing the threatening, hateful and anti-Semitic fliers found on the campus of Texas State University on March 2 as well as the hateful and offensive fliers found several other times on campus over the past several months.  We welcome your reassurances that ‘the deplorable sentiments’ expressed on the fliers violate the University’s core values, that campus police continue to investigate these troubling incidents, and that you are committed to enduring an inclusive and supportive environment for all.”  You can read the full letter here.

ADL has offered resources to police investigating the fliers in San Marcos and will work with police as needed.
