ADL Condemns Murder of San Antonio Officer Benjamin Marconi

  • November 21, 2016

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) strongly condemns the murder of San Antonio Police Detective Benjamin Marconi during a traffic stop November 20, and hopes the perpetrator of this attack will be brought to justice.

“We are shocked and saddened by this cold-blooded killing of Detective Marconi,” said ADL Southwest Regional Director Dayan Gross.  “We send our deepest condolences to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus and the entire San Antonio Police Department. If, as Chief McManus says, ‘the uniform was the target’ for the killer, it is reasonable to expect law enforcement officers all over the country are fearing for their lives.”

Their fears are likely heightened by the shootings of three other officers in Missouri and Florida last night.   ADL extends its sympathies to all the families, friends and colleague of the fallen and injured.

“We appeal to the public to remain calm and work together peacefully to respond to these horrific attacks and prevent them from happening again,” Gross said.
