ADL is concerned about dozens of bills still pending in the Texas legislature that could end up discriminating against citizens in the name of religious freedom.   We urge you to let House Speaker Joe Straus know you don’t support discrimination and you feel confident he doesn’t support it, either.

Dear Speaker Straus:

Too often in our history religion has been used as the last excuse to justify discrimination or persecution.  Texans deserve better than this.  We cannot allow discrimination to occur under the guise of “religious liberty.” Now is the time for Texas to join the rest of the nation in embracing equality under law for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.  Please don’t allow Texas to be the next Arkansas or Indiana.

I urge you to say “no” to bills that are designed to discriminate.
